Ku-ring-gai Council ,St Ives Hazard Reduction 16-September-2005 Hazard reduction burns are used to clear undergrowth and ground fuels in strategic areas of bushland, particularly around the urban interface. This work can assist in reducing the intensity of a bushfire should it occur in these areas.
